About us

The South Stradbroke Island Landcare Group is a group of volunteers who aim to conserve and protect the unique natural flora and fauna of South Stradbroke Island. South Stradbroke Island Landcare Group maintain the biodiversity by:

  • re-vegetation of native flora
  • rehabilitation of native fauna
  • eradication of weeds and exotic pests
  • monitor coastal waterways and underground water
  • dducate the community about the fragility of this natural resource and the importance of conservation
  • introduction and educate bush regeneration and management skills
  • involve individuals and residents in regenerating and maintenance work.
